This first post is kind of dedicated to the Eckersons; Nate and Emily, we were serious when we told you this stuff is terrible, and very difficult to remove! (as you will see in the photos) :)
Last weekend we went to a Masquerade Ball in Massachusetts ( I will post about that when I get the pictures from Brian), and Mom came home from Texas. When our tired dancing feet got back to Maine soil, we took the week to take care of the gardens and yard. Tuesday was the flower gardens/swing area day. When weeding near the Bluebird house, Amanda discovered it..... the BITTERSWEET HAD COME BACK!!!!!!!AAAAUUUUUGGGGHHHH!!!!! the stuff spreads by root and if you miss a piece of it, it will come back.
So Amanda and I got a digging fork and started ripping the stuff out...
Hard working Amanda!
Amanda and I found it had grown at least five feet from the little base she found sticking out of the ground.
I am now on the iMac and Samuel didn't load any of the pictures from that day on here, so this will conclude the first post from " The Chronicles of Life at Barton Manor", ...... stay tuned!

Yay for the first post! Looking forward to following your blog! :) *hugs*
Alright.... maybe I'll think differently about the blessings of Bittersweet when decorating this Fall. But, but, but, it's so pretty twisted up into a wreath on the front door... :P
Love the blog template by the way!!
Yeah Emily, I do admit it is beautiful as a wreath on the door.... just don't plant it yourself, go get it for your wreath from someone else.... it saves a lot of work!
Thanks, found the template on Splashy Templates, it so fits us!
Welcome to the blogging community!
You're blog looks fantastic! : )
good for you. looks beautiful!
Looking forward to another post.
Make sure if you folks come near Rowley, Mass you stop in to say "Hi". Or rather, we'd love to say "Hi" to you. We certainly enjoyed getting to know your family and the others in your church better this year. It has become sweeter with each passing year looking forward to visiting our like-minded brothers and sisters in Maine. We have never had so many kindred spirits! The Lord is very good to us!
Mr. Joe and Melanie Milette (and family of course!)
